You’ve already built the setlist and sent it to the group before the session. Everyone arrives with the charts on their phone or tablet. When it’s time for a song, everyone opens the same chart in our dotted notation. You see the chords, lyrics, and structure at a glance, count it off, and play. No key debate, no confusion about who plays what.
What is dotted notation, and why is it better than tabs or sheet music?
Dotted notation shows the chord changes and lyrics in a clean visual layout, so you don’t have to read traditional sheet music or decode tabs. The song structure is right there at a glance. Players of any skill level can jump into a song they’ve never played and stay with the group. It clears out the key debates that slow down a jam.
Can I use Jamming Junction if my group only jams once a month?
Yes. You set the recurring schedule to match your group. Once a month, twice a month, weekly, it works the same way. Scheduling, setlist building, and messaging all run the same regardless of how often you meet.
What if my jam plays songs that aren’t in your library?
Yes. You can upload your own songs and charts to your jam’s library. The 5,000+ pre-loaded songs are a starting point, not a limit.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to use this?
