How It Works, Step by Step
Step 01
Add the Jam Date to System
Once you have your location locked down, you then set the date and time your jam will be held. Typically, this is a recurring date, like every Wednesday or the first Saturday of the month.
As one jam is completed it’s time to add the next jam to Jamming Junction. The jam is added by the Jam Organizer. This lets the Jammers know when the next jam is going to take place.
Step 02
The Jammers Request Songs
The Jammers access Jamming Junction at their leisure to see what songs might be being played and make requests should they want to. Selections can be from the 5,000+ charted songs in the database, or they can provide or request new songs to add to the database.
Step 03
Jam Organizer Updates Jam Set List
Jamming Junction allows ongoing communication to allow the Jam Organizer and the Jammers to fine tune what songs to play, preferred keys, capo positions to use, help with harmonies and possible instruments and anything else to lock in songs.
As the jam approaches, the Jam Organizer can update the Jam Set List order to provide the jam with an entertaining ebb and flow, like an actual concert.
Step 04
Jam Organizer Sends Email
With the Set List complete, the Jam Organizer prepares an email using a provided template or creating one from scratch. This email can optionally include the Set List and the names of participants singing, easily copied and pasted directly from Jamming Junction.
Jamming Junction includes a full and versatile communication option for sending and receiving emails and more. All Jammers’ emails are added to the system as they sign up.
Emails can go out anytime and as often as it makes sense for your jam.
Step 05
Jam Night
It’s time to sing and play music! Jamming Junction allows you to experience your jam like it’s a concert. You have a Set List, you have designated singers, everyone follows the same song charts, it’s like a professional thing! The jam takes place, and everyone is feeling great and having a great time! Most likely no one goes home disappointed.

How does Jamming Junction work during a live session?
You’ve already built the setlist and sent it to the group before the session. Everyone arrives with the charts on their phone or tablet. When it’s time for a song, everyone opens the same chart in our dotted notation. You see the chords, lyrics, and structure at a glance, count it off, and play. No key debate, no confusion about who plays what.
What is dotted notation, and why is it better than tabs or sheet music?
Dotted notation shows the chord changes and lyrics in a clean visual layout, so you don’t have to read traditional sheet music or decode tabs. The song structure is right there at a glance. Players of any skill level can jump into a song they’ve never played and stay with the group. It clears out the key debates that slow down a jam.
Can I use Jamming Junction if my group only jams once a month?
Yes. You set the recurring schedule to match your group. Once a month, twice a month, weekly, it works the same way. Scheduling, setlist building, and messaging all run the same regardless of how often you meet.
What if my jam plays songs that aren’t in your library?
Yes. You can upload your own songs and charts to your jam’s library. The 5,000+ pre-loaded songs are a starting point, not a limit.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to use this?
No. If you can send a text and open a website, you can use Jamming Junction. It’s built for musicians, not engineers. Everything is point and click, and you don’t need to understand the technical side to get value from it.
